In the Mexican city of Atlixco during the 1950’s, the Tello family perfected its family salsa recipe. The combination of fresh vegetables and spices has withstood the test of time and was brought to the United States by Santiago Manuel Tello. With his family recipes in mind, Santiago Manuel Tello founded the El Bandido Mexican Restaurant. The salsa is now the most recognized and popular dish in the Tello family’s restaurants. Marked by authentic Mexican flare, the signature salsa brings a taste of Aztec culture to the contemporary world. After 35 years, El Bandido Restaurant remains a landmark in Rockland County, New York. El Bandido –the first Mexican restaurant in the area- set the standard and is still unmatched. Since its inception, El Bandido has spread to three other locations in the tri-state area.
